Alison Berman, Fund Developer at CJFS, started with the organization in 2010. Alison holds a Master of Arts in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science in Business from The University of Alabama. She has worked with non-profits since 1994 in the area of development. At CJFS, Alison oversees the Outreach Center, located inside the Levite Jewish Community Center, to raise community awareness of CJFS and funds for our programs that assist those individuals and families touched by the organization.

Margy Sugar and Donna Goldberg, with support from Shirley Aaron, co-coordinate the English as a Second Language (ESL) program for immigrants residing in the greater Birmingham area. Our teachers are talented volunteers from the community. They develop lessons, train and manage volunteer teachers, and organize field trips and cultural programs for the students, e.g., trips to Birmingham's Art Museum, Jewish holiday celebrations with N.E. Miles school children. Margy became coordinator of the program in October 2007 after serving 2 years as a volunteer teacher.

Donna Goldberg is co-coordinator of the English as a Second Language (ESL) Program at CJFS. Donna served two terms on the board of CJFS and immediately began to teach ESL. Previously, Donna taught school in Miami, Florida and volunteered for LEAD (Literacy for Every Adult in Dade County). Donna received a Bachelor in Arts in Secondary Education and English from Emory University.
